I travelled over to Manchester on Wednesday morning and met up with an LJ friend. We arrived at the hotel to find they had no record of her booking! It got sorted,(so we thought) went out for the day around the city centre went for dinner at Afflix Palace then took a walk through China town to Manchesters smallest pub. It has one room about 9 seats and 7 old men drinking their pints, watching horse racing and one sneezed the whole time we were there. We got back to the hotel to find we couldn't get back into the room as the booking still hadn't been sorted! Thankfully she managed to get it all sorted and we got back in the room!!
Today we took the train from the airport to Hathersage in the Peak District and caught the bus to Castleton we walked around the village had a sandwich by the stream, had coffee in a cafe, walked up and had a look at the peak cavern known locally as 'The Devil's Arse'. We then caught the little bus that was the local school bus around to Edale and caught the train back to Manchester. We went to a pub near the station for tea and then went back to the hotel where this time we could enter our room!
