Blue Red

Weekend stuff

My cousin stayed over on Friday night after we'd been to the pub and slept in the new bedroom in the new bed.

Saturday Steve arrived about 12 noon and brought me another glass shelf for the conservatory. He put it up and made it look lovely. We went up to the village and did a 3 pub, pub crawl in the afternoon.

Sunday we went to the car boot in Hope Valley and then a quick walk around Castleton. We took some sandwiches and had a picnic in the countryside and then went for a walk around Bolsterstone. We got home for about 5pm and had tea. We watched Time Team on TV together.

Today I went to the dentist. I need a filling in a back tooth. I'm never nervous about going to the dentist but the tooth I need filled is the first tooth I ever had filled when I was about 12 years old. I don't think the old dentist used enough local anesthetic because he hit the nerve and I remember it been VERY painful!! I have always said that it would be the one tooth I would be nervous about if I ever had to have it refilled.

After the dentist I went to the hairdressers and had my hair done. The last couple of times I've had pillar box red on the top with brown underneath this time I've had brown on the top with bright red underneath. It's the first time I've had a lot of brown hair in about 7 years!! I'll post photos soon.

When I got back there was a message from Sheffield homes asking me what work had been done in the flat. I rang them back and she went through the list of what should have been done and it's just the kitchen that needs doing. The bathroom, double glazing and central heating and new front door are all done. I asked if that meant they were thinking of working in this area soon and she told me they were working out which areas needed the most work done. who knows maybe it will be less than the two years or so I was expecting it to be!

My printer is playing at silly beggars! It keeps grabbing the paper on one side and not on the other so it keeps getting jammed!

I'm looking forward to Greenbelt Festival in Cheltenham at the weekend. I've made plans to meet up with friends I only see once a year on Friday at 5ish, and meet the signing gang at some point later in the evening. I've not had a chance to look at the programme yet so I don't really know who's playing this year.

Hmmm....When I was tidying the bedroom up I did put my tent and rucksack in easy reach but I think my sleeping bag is at my mom's with my other camping gear!
Blue Red

And we'll all go together, to pluck wild mountain thyme, all around the blooming heather.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that the moors and mountains are covered at the moment in a purple haze from the blooming heather. It looks beautiful.

No photos of my own though - it's the sort of thing I could never capture in all it's wonderful glory on a photograph!

I found this on the internet.

I was singing this song in the car as we drove across the moorland yesterday.
