Blue Red

UK Christmas No1s 1952 - 2010 (1987 & 1988)

I love Christmas No1s and have collected them over the years on 78, vinyl and CD.

Neil Tennant always reminds me of a lovely red headed young man I met on the early morning bus in 1985/86 He was a student from London up here on work placement for 2 months. It was an 'all around the houses' little 18 seater type bus at 6am and it was always the same regular 7 people who caught it every morning. We all got to know each other and I am still in contact with one of them to this day.
When he got on he sat next to me so I got chatting to him and we got on really well. He was the spitting image of Neil Tennant but with red hair, red eyelashes and freckles! Hmm v. lovely!!

Me and my friend used to go to a village carol sing around the pubs and we would sing traditional carols but then they would also sing Mistletoe and Wine too. We used to enjoy being silly by singing the choir boy bits in high voices and making the people around us laugh!

Eurovision

Yay! I got final Jury dress rehersal tickets for the Friday night! I never knew this but this is the show that the juries actually watch and judge! Then they are ready and waiting to give all their scores quickly on Saturday night!

The tickets were due to go on sale at 11am and I turned the computer on at 9.40am to find an e-mail from the eurovision facebook group saying that we could buy tickets at 10am. I went straight to the site to have a look at where I should click and found that it was already open and that I could buy tickets!

The site was all in German (which after Saturday I was fully prepared for) Thanks to internet translators I managed to buy two tickets and then right at the end of the process I noticed in the bottom corner a tiny wee Union Jack! So I clicked on it and got the site in English (after I'd done everything I wanted to do!)

Anyway that's aimingtobefit  and myself sorted to see something of the final.
