Blue Red

UK Christmas No1s 1952 - 2010 (2001 - 2003)

I love Christmas No1s and have collected them over the years on 78, vinyl and CD.

I quite like these next songs.
I liked the originals of both Mad World and Something Stupid and I thought both cover versions were good.

I also liked the fact that Sound of the Underground had a bit of rock to it rather than a ballad.

Here are the next three songs;

Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman - Something Stupid

Girls Aloud - Sound Of The Underground

Gary Jules - Mad World

Blue Red

I'm tired...really tired!

I think I may have a really early night!

Last night I didn't go to bed until 2am as I enjoyed, twice in one evening, the wonders of skype for talking to people in the US!

This morning i got up at 6.30am and was out of the door and on the bus at 7.30 am for the bus and tram ride to Meadowhall shopping centre, which is about 15 mins drive in a car from my flat but an hour and a quarter on the bus and tram! so I got there for the shops opening at 9am, finished all my Christmas shopping and was ready to leave as the crowds started to appear at 11.30am. I got home for 1pm had a sandwich and then left about 2pm and used my same all day bus ticket and took the 10 min bus journey to Morrisons in Hillsborough to do my last bits of food and drink shopping. I got home about 4pm and then sat for a while before making my first batch of mulled wine! (my house smells really Christmassy now!)

Healthwise my beta blockers seem to be working - I'm going for about 5 to 6 days in a row now without any irregular heartbeats and then maybe I have 2 days with them. It's an impovement that I'm happy with. I've been on them for about 6 weeks now so hopefully in another couple of weeks they may have stopped altogether!

I've not dared cut down the labyrinthitis tablets after having that attack a couple of weeks ago. Maybe in a couple of months I'll try again!

Eurovision wise I've got tickets to the final dress rehersal on the Friday night and have had a letter today from the fam club explaining that they still didn't know the ticket number allocation for the final and semi finals but that as a few people have now dropped out I have moved up the list several places! They guessed at the beginning that the three tickets would be around £250 but said today that they are £235. That's still quite a lot of money to me! But in perspective the front tickets for the final were selling for £180 and I would imagine that the semifinals wouldn't be much cheaper.  £235 over all is only £78 each!

It looks like I'll have to be really really careful with my money over the next 4 months and try to save every penny I get.

multred_a  has asked me to travel around the Hebrides with her just after the Eurovision. If I save hard and the fan club tickets don't happen at least I'll have plenty of money to go travelling with her instead. :)

Oooh it's time for the Time Team special! I'll write again soon x
